About Book & Ebook Writing
This type of writing is a fabulous way for you to get your new book finished and up for sale quickly. The level of service is outstanding and you will be surprised at the ease of which I can “pull” a book out of you just by chatting.
Books and eBooks are categorized differently from information products because they normally do not require much sales copy to be included, nor are they overly technical in nature. They normally are about you, your experiences and provide useful information in the form of a story or autobigraphy.
The length of the book is up to you, though I find that powerful content is not measured by length but instead by value. Did it tell the story? Is it memorable? Would people lend it out or encourage their friends to buy it? Those are the important considerations.
Arguments can be made for shorter and longer works. The advantage of a longer work is that you have more room to express complex ideas and tell more of a story as you do so. Shorter works have the advantage of not overwhelming the reader with a large time commitment.
The final product will be delivered in word with the formatting of your choice, professionally proofread and ready to send to an editor or pushed straight to print.
Cover art is not included.
This service is for the writing only.
Suggestions for pictures can be added upon request.
Each book is delivered with a paragraph of copy meant to serve as the description for the back cover or description for your online Amazon Kindle account etc. These are basically “sales blurbs” that summarize the book and why your reader should buy it.
The Writing Process
When we first begin we will discuss who this book is for and create a reader persona if you don’t have one already. We will also discuss how you are publishing the book and any special needs or requirements you may have.
Table of Contents & Outline
I will then interview you and write a table of contents with an outline of the suggested sections for approval before I begin writing.
Interviews & Transcription
Next, I will interview you in stages, transcribe our conversations to capture your voice. If you already have bits and pieces written, I can take that as well but we will still need time on the phone or in person if you are local.
Draft to Final Product
Finally, I will craft a story that is unique, accurate and sounds like you. I submit the first copy in draft format with no edits or proofreading. Think of it like a sketch. The creative mind works to capture the essence, not perfection. This draft is raw and will have typos, disjointed sentences, cut offs and errors.
This initial draft is meant to get approval for the feel and tone of the content only. Many writers do not show customers their fist draft for fear that they will not be able to see past “sloppy writing” but I trust my customers and know from experience that letting them in on this initial, critical step is necessary for an amazing end product. It gives them control to “steer the ship” early on and makes the process better for everyone.
The second draft eliminates most typos, fixes errors and smooths out the writing to become more cohesive and is ready for you to really dig in and make final changes. The final product is then polished, perfected, flows beautifully, is professionally proofed and ready for print.
If you need a book written but have a different expert in mind for me to interview and pull information from that works as well. Each book is delivered with a paragraph of copy meant to serve as the description for the back cover or description for your online Amazon Kindle account etc. These are basically “sales blurbs” that summarize the book and why your reader should buy it.
You may attribute the work to any author or company you like. I reserve the right to post samples of the work online so that I may facilitate the acquisition of new customers. If you desire ghostwriting services where I am under a Non Disclosure Agreement with you and am unable to share with anyone that the work was not done by me, simply add 25% to the cost of any service to transform it into a ghostwriting service.
